Don't Stop Reading In The Middle Of The Story

Tired of Waiting for the Breakthrough
and there is so much rubbish that we are not able to build the wall.”
Every day, I coach women who are chasing a God-given dream. And earlier this year, I noticed something happening in their hearts that broke my heart a little.
Some of the excitement they had when they first started … had faded. Life crowded in. For some, progress felt painfully slow. I could see the discouragement creeping into their hearts one by one, that quiet voice whispering, Maybe this wasn't really my calling after all. Maybe I can’t do this.
Perhaps you know that voice. Maybe it whispers about a ministry you’re building, a relationship you’re fighting for, a career change you’re stepping toward, or a health journey you’re persevering in. Maybe there’s a dream God placed in your heart that now feels more like a burden than a blessing.
Can I tell you what I’m learning? This is exactly where breakthroughs happen. Not at the exciting beginning. Not when the passion is fresh and the possibilities feel endless. In the messy, unglamorous middle, where the rubble is piled up and progress is hard to see.
It's like in Nehemiah 4 when God’s people were rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem. It was a God-ordained mission, and they started strong. They were thrilled to be a part of this important purpose. But partway through, something shifted.
Nehemiah 4:10 says, “Then the people of Judah began to complain, ‘The workers are getting tired, and there is so much rubble to be moved. We will never be able to build the wall by ourselves.’”
Not just the enemies outside the wall but the rubble within discouraged them. The accumulation of hard days, slow progress, and exhaustion made them question everything.
But Nehemiah reminded them of the vision. He repositioned them and told them to keep building. One stone at a time. Until 52 days later, the wall was finished (Nehemiah 6:15).
Whatever God has called you to, He hasn’t changed His mind because it got hard. He will bring it all to fruition in His timing. It may not feel easy, exciting, or certain, but when you choose faithfulness over feelings and keep showing up anyway, God doesn’t waste your obedience.
Every hard step, every act of courage when you want to quit, every prayer whispered through exhaustion … He’s using all of it. He's building something in you that’s bigger than you can see. He’s preparing you for something you can’t even imagine right now.
Momentum isn’t built on giant leaps. It's built on faithful steps taken one at a time.
You’re closer than you think. And whatever wall you’re building is worth finishing.
Lord, remind me today that You haven’t changed Your mind about what You’ve called me to. Give me courage to keep building - not because I feel ready or equipped but because I trust You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
God Is The Way Maker
Stop worrying about what you are going to do. God is still the Way Maker. He is already opening the road in front of you, even where you cannot see a path ahead.
Your heart may feel worn out. You lie awake and stare at the ceiling, replaying conversations, test results, bank statements, what your children did or did not say. You think through every “what if,” every worst case, every burden you are carrying for the people you love, and by morning you feel empty.
You love the Lord. You have walked with Him for years, yet your thoughts still run ahead of you, trying to peek around every corner. You wish you could see the plan, the timeline, the exact way He will help your family, your health, your future. The not knowing sits on your chest like a weight you cannot quite push away.
But friend, you belong to the One who called Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is not asking you to chart the course. He is not expecting you to keep all the pieces in the air. He simply asks you to stay close to Him. While you are studying the map and worrying about every turn, He is already out in front, clearing the road you cannot see and arranging details you do not even know to pray about.
Think back over your life. There were seasons you were not sure how you would pay the bills, raise the children, survive the loss, or bear the disappointment. At the time, it all looked dark and confusing. Later, when you looked back, you could trace His care through every detour and delay. What felt like confusion turned out to be protection. The God who carried you then has not changed. He is still guiding, still guarding, still opening a way where there does not seem to be one.
Right now, in this very ordinary moment, God is at work behind the scenes. While you stir a pot on the stove. While you answer a message from a grown child. While you straighten the pillows in the living room or sit at the table with a quiet cup of coffee. He is speaking to hearts you cannot reach. He is moving in rooms you will never sit in. He is unlocking doors that, from where you stand, still look shut.
Jesus Wants You To Know...
"I am training you to thank Me not only for obvious blessings but also for situations you would never have chosen - a wayward child or spouse; loss of health, home, or employment. This is counterintuitive thankfulness, and it is possible only to the extent that you trust Me at a deep level. It is also a matter of self-discipline: willing yourself to thank Me even when your circumstances are screaming at you to find a way out.
God Is With You
You may not understand why the burdens press so hard or why the world seems louder than your prayers. Yet God sees every tear, He hears every sigh, and He is gently holding you in His presence. Let your mind rest on Him, not on the chaos around you, for He is your peace.
Believing God Is Protecting You
Sometimes faith asks us to trust in what we cannot see. Believing that God is protecting you is not always easy. Life can feel heavy, chaotic, and even frightening, and it’s natural to wonder if anyone is truly watching over you. But God’s protection is real, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.
When God Comes To Heal What Hurts
It was such a small moment - insignificant to most. A little girl was spinning and dancing while her dad smiled and clapped. But as I watched her, a sob caught in my throat.
She was unapologetically herself and so free in her father’s delight. And something about it broke me.
In that moment, I realized I had once been that little girl. But somewhere along the way, I replaced freedom with striving and took on shame in the areas that once brought me joy.
I was surprised by the sadness that hit me, but I knew deep down this wasn’t just a tearful moment. It was an invitation to heal something that had long been hurting.
Maybe you’ve been carrying your own quiet grief.
You’ve learned to ignore it - all those times you believed something was wrong with you when you were left out. Or the pain of carrying a shattered heart that has left you broken. Or perhaps you’re weary of trying to be so faithful yet still feeling so invisible.
Then comes a moment - or a whole season - when you can no longer ignore what you’ve been tolerating. The pain surfaces in a new way. And suddenly, you sense God inviting you to look at it. But how do you even begin?
Oh, friend. You’re not alone. What I’m learning is that when the Lord asks us to step into a season of healing, it’s never to shame us but to restore us.
Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” It’s His job to heal. Ours is simply to come. God is committed to restoring every part of us, even the quiet, hurting places in our souls. He is asking us to trust Him with our broken hearts and our wounds.
Healing isn’t always a one-time prayer or a single moment. It’s a continual walk with God, a process of bringing Him what hurts, letting Him replace lies with truth, and surrendering to His timeline, not ours.
Watching that little girl delight in who she was, fully at home in her father’s love, opened a window to the healing God was inviting me to experience. It moved me deeply because in that moment, I remembered that’s still how He sees me. And I realized just how much I missed that version of myself.
Friend, you and I are like that little girl. And our heavenly Father wants us to live in that same freedom.
God is not asking for us to give a better performance but for us to come into His presence. He invites us to walk bravely with Him and let Him do the healing, one step at a time.
Lord, I bring You the pain I’ve learned to tolerate, and I ask You to heal me. I have been hurting for a long time, but I know Your heart for me is always good. Help me take the next step toward You. You are my good Father, and I will keep running into Your safe arms. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Patience
Satan knows something we often forget. God is a builder, not a sprinter. From the beginning of time, God has chosen to work with intention, care, and process. He does not rush transformation. He molds hearts slowly. He weaves stories through seasons. Because of that, Satan’s most effective weapon is not always temptation in its most obvious form. It is impatience.
