Jesus Wants You To Know...

"Relax in My healing, holy Presence. Be still, while I transform your heart and mind. Let go of cares and worries, so that you can receive My Peace. Cease striving, and know that I am God. Do not be like Pharisees who multiplied regulations, creating their own form of 'godliness.' They got so wrapped up in their own rules that they lost sight of Me. Even today, man-made rules about how to live the Christian life enslave many people. Their focus is on their performance, rather than on Me." - "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young

Finding Peace in the Storm To Carry You Through

“...Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
Mark 6:50b (NKJV)

My first time visiting the state of Georgia was before we had smartphones and instant weather reports. As I drove out to hike a mountain, local news warned of intermittent showers.

But after parking, I realized I’d forgotten my rain gear. Should I leave? The sun was shining. Armed with waterproof hiking boots and a baseball cap, I figured, I’ll be fine.

Hours later, as I trekked through thick woods, it started sprinkling. Then rain poured in sheets, coming down sideways. Storm clouds quickly moved in, darkening the sky. Gusts of wind howled. Claps of explosive thunder boomed as lightning discharged around me in ominous, intense flashes like strobe lights.

I was scared and disoriented. It got so dark I couldn’t see the trail well without a flashlight or a map. There I stood, cold and soaked through in the middle of a thunderstorm.

That’s how life’s “storms” often are too. Troubling circumstances happen suddenly. We feel helpless, unsure what to do - our world seemingly spinning out of control.

The truth is we aren’t in control. But God is.

Jesus stands in our confusion and whispers, Take My hand. I will carry you through. I am with you. I will be your peace.

Sometimes the only way out is letting Jesus take us through the storm - and finding that His peace will carry us better than any plan.

Once, Jesus was alone on a mountain praying after sending His disciples ahead of Him into the Sea of Galilee. They, too, met a storm (Mark 6:45-48). Why would Jesus send them on a journey knowing they’d encounter bad weather?

Jesus saw His friends straining at the oars, and He came to them: “Immediately he spoke to them and said, ‘Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid’” (Mark 6:50b).

Peter attempted to walk to Jesus on the water but sank because he feared the wind’s strength. “Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him,” Matthew 14:31 tells us (ESV). Then Jesus got into the boat, and the wind stopped.

Jesus is with us in every storm and calms us with His promises. He moves us from having “head knowledge” to personally experiencing the powerful peace of His presence. Because peace, after all, is a person.

God has a plan in the storms of life, but we don’t always know what it is. That’s the part that requires faith. Jesus offers His hand instead of a map.

Holding on to Him means letting go of Plan A, B, or C. You can take it one day at a time - and remember you’re not alone. Reach out for help, and surround yourself with friends to support you.

Jesus sees you. He is with you. And even if He doesn’t calm the winds, He will carry you through.

Dear Jesus, take my hand. Be my peace. Never let me go. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer: God's Infinite Grace

Father, I stand before the vastness of Your creation and I am reminded of Your infinite grace that has no end.
Teach me to witness the dance of the waves with the curiosity of a child, finding wonder in the spray and peace in the persistent rhythm of the tide.

Help me to let go of the rigid expectations I carry, allowing Your peace to wash over my heart just as the water cleanses the shore. Remind me that even when the currents of life feel strong, You are the steady ground beneath my feet and the shield around my soul. Give me the grace to be small in Your presence, finding safety in the knowledge that You are the Great Architect of every grain of sand. Help me to listen for Your voice in the whisper of the breeze and the roar of the deep, knowing You are present in every unexpected moment. I lay down my pride and my plans at the water’s edge, wanting less of me and more of You, choosing Your perfect will above my own.
In Jesus name, Amen.
The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters,
yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.”
Psalm 93:4

When You’re Clinging to the Dust

My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.
Psalm 119:25

I was overwhelmed - thrown into the most difficult and desperate time of my life. I had trouble concentrating without tears welling up, my mind drifting, every thought leaving me more unsettled. I couldn’t picture the future, and I kept fixating on the worst possible outcomes.

Maybe you can relate to those feelings. Your painful season may look different from mine, but the heartbreak is often the same.

Everything unraveled right after my husband unexpectedly left our family, leaving me bewildered. I thought he loved me. I thought his distance was because of work. But now, as I sat sobbing in my closet, everything was uncertain. I couldn’t string a coherent thought together. My kids were confused and angry. God felt distant, and I didn’t know how to connect with Him.

Talking to friends was helpful, but I felt defensive when questions came up. And most of the time, there was no one to talk to. Everyone’s lives were busy, especially when I felt discouraged.

When no one was available to process things with me, I’d reluctantly settle for talking to God. I’d wander over to the table where my Bible and journal waited for me. I rarely wanted to open it, but I knew that, like medicine, this would be good for me. Honestly, it felt more like flossing than feasting - it was something I needed to do even if I didn’t feel like it.

Sometimes I would read and reread the same passage, my mind drifting to my problems instead of the words in front of me. I’d been in Psalm 119 for days, and the words were all blurring together. I couldn’t relate to the psalmist’s continual praise of Scripture.

Then I read, “My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word” (Psalm 119:25).

This I could relate to. That’s how I felt. My soul was beaten down, and I needed revival. So I prayed that verse - really prayed it. God needed to renew me because I couldn’t muster up anything myself.

As I kept reading, I sensed a surprising lightness as the words of Scripture came to life. God was reviving me as I watched my outlook, my hope, and my peace begin to change. The words that days earlier felt flat suddenly became vibrant.

That transformation was over 15 years ago, and Scripture has continued to meet me. It began with my desperate need - leaning on God’s Word to change me and waiting expectantly for Him.

If you’re walking through something difficult right now, the last thing you might feel like doing is spending time with God in His Word. But, friend, that is the very thing that will renew your soul, transform your perspective, and give you lasting hope. God is waiting to meet you in His Word - will you join Him there today?

Lord, I know Scripture has power, but sometimes reading it feels like a chore. Give me a desire to read Your Word, and transform me through it. Revive me according to Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"I give strength to My people; I bless My people with Peace. 'My people' are all those who trust Me as their Savior-God. My death on the cross for your sins was sufficient to provide everlasting Life because I am truly God. So rest assured that the One who provides eternal Life will also give you strength."
.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16

Jesus Wants You To Know...

When you thank Me during a difficult day, you are assuming the proper stance for a child of God. If you persevere in this thankfulness, resisting the temptation to grumble, you can find Joy and Peace in the midst of your struggles.
"Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, and offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with reverence and awe." - Hebrews 12:28

Prayer: Lord, Be My Peace...

Lord, be my peace today, not just in the quiet moments but in the middle of everything.

When the phone rings with unexpected news, be my peace.
When conversations feel tense, be my peace.
When my thoughts begin to race ahead of reality, be my peace.
I know this day may not unfold the way I hope. There may be interruptions, pressures, disappointments, and small frustrations that try to chip away at my calm. But none of them are bigger than You.
You are not surprised by anything I will face today.
You are not anxious about my future.
You are not unsettled by what feels overwhelming to me.
So when I feel my heart tightening, remind me to pause. When my mind begins to spiral, draw me back to truth. Help me breathe deeply and remember that You are near.
Peace is not found in perfect circumstances. It is found in Your presence.
Anchor me in that truth. Let Your Spirit steady my reactions, soften my words, and guard my thoughts. Give me a calm that does not depend on good news or easy outcomes, but on the unchanging reality that You are with me.
You have already overcome the world. That means nothing I encounter today is outside Your authority. Nothing can separate me from Your love. Nothing can shake the foundation beneath my feet.
Help me walk slowly, speak gently, and trust fully.
Let my life reflect a quiet confidence that comes from knowing I am held. Even if the day feels busy, let my soul remain still. Even if challenges arise, let my heart remain secure.
Be my peace in every moment, Lord.
And when this day is over, let me look back and see that You carried me through it all.
Amen.

In The Middle Of The Noise

When your mind will not slow down, it can feel exhausting in a way that is hard to explain. Your body might be still, but your thoughts keep moving. You try to rest, but your head fills with reminders, worries, conversations, plans, and fears. One thought leads to another and then another. Before you know it, you feel overwhelmed and worn out, even if you have not done anything yet.
You want to pray, but it feels hard to focus. You want peace, but your mind keeps running back to everything you need to do, everything you forgot to do, and everything you are trying to figure out. It can make you feel distant, distracted, and tired.
God understands what it feels like to carry a restless heart.
In Psalm 94:19 it says, “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” That verse does not pretend that the thoughts are not there. It says a multitude. A mind full. Thoughts layered on top of each other. And right in the middle of that, God’s comfort is still present.
You do not have to wait for your mind to be perfectly calm to come to God. You can come with all the noise. You can come with every anxious thought. You can come when you feel scattered.
Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Peace is not something you force. It is something God holds for you. When your thoughts start running in every direction, you can gently bring your attention back to Him again and again. Even if it lasts only a few seconds at a time.
2 Corinthians 10:5 says we can bring “every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” That does not mean you will never have anxious thoughts. It means you are allowed to hand them over, one by one. Every fear. Every pressure. Every what if. You do not have to carry them all by yourself.
And in Philippians 4:7, there is this promise: “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Not peace that makes sense. Not peace that comes because everything is figured out. Peace that stands guard over your mind when it feels like too much.
If your mind will not stop racing, you are not failing. You are human. You are carrying a lot. And God is not standing far away waiting for you to get it together. God is near in the middle of it.
Even if your prayer is just a deep breath.
Even if your prayer is just, God help me.
Even if your thoughts are still loud.
God meets you there, in the middle of the noise, and holds you with a gentleness that does not rush you or shame you.

Real Spiritual Maturity...

"Real spiritual maturity is when you stop asking God to change your situation and start asking Him to change you."
Most of our prayers are really just complaints with "Amen" at the end. We tell God how bad the job is and how annoying the people are and we beg Him to fix it. We treat God like a personal assistant whose job is to clear the obstacles out of our path so we can be comfortable.
But comfort is not the goal of the Christian life. Conformity to Christ is the goal. And usually, we become like Christ not when things are easy, but when things are hard.
Real maturity happens when you stop trying to control the wind and you start adjusting your sails. You realize that the storm isn't actually the problem; your fear is the problem. The difficult person isn't the problem; your impatience is the problem. The waiting isn't the problem; your lack of trust is the problem.
When you switch your prayer from "God change it" to "God change me," the panic disappears. Because the situation might stay exactly the same, but you become different. You become stable. You become peaceful. You become unshakeable. And that is a greater miracle than the storm stopping.
...we also glory in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering produces perseverance...
Romans 5:3 Provided by "Divine Insight"

Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7

Peace doesn’t come from having fewer worries... it comes from bringing them to God.

Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us that when we pray instead of panic, God’s peace doesn’t just calm our thoughts… it guards our hearts.
"Anchored in Peace Devotional" was written for the moments when anxiety feels loud and trust feels hard - offering gentle scripture, mindful practices, and space to breathe again. You don’t have to carry it alone. Let peace anchor you.

Prayer: Rest and Restoration

Father God, I come before You in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ. I thank You for sustaining me through every season, both the joyful and the painful. You have carried me when I was weak and remained faithful when I felt uncertain. Today, Lord, I ask You to quiet my heart and calm my mind. Teach me how to truly rest in You and not strive in my own strength. Remove every heavy burden, anxious thought, and inner struggle that weighs me down and steals my peace. Help me to trust You fully, even in areas where I struggle to let go. I release control into Your hands and surrender every concern to You. Restore my soul where it has grown weary, heal the places where I have been wounded by disappointment or loss, and renew my strength where fatigue has set in. Fill me with Your perfect peace and remind me that You are my Shepherd, my Provider, and my Protector, and because of You, I lack nothing. I receive Your rest and restoration today. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.

Perfect Peace

Some days my soul is restless, searching for something solid to hold onto. I confess: the weight of life overwhelms me and I forget there’s a peace that doesn’t vanish with the evening news. But then I remember: "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You." (Isaiah 26:3 NIV) Lord, steady my heart. Help me stay anchored in You when waves threaten to pull me under.

I Wish Hope Felt Stronger

There are days I wish hope felt stronger: days when the weight just sits in my chest and every prayer sounds tired. But then, like a gentle brush of light, I remember: Hope isn’t something I fight for alone. It’s the quiet gift God places into my hands, even when I’m struggling to hold on.

Psalm 27:1 sings over every shadow: "The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear?" I confess I fear plenty. But God remains, unwavering. When the world feels heavy and dark, His presence glows soft around me, reminding me I haven’t slipped beyond His reach. In the smile of a child, in a moment of peace, I see His hope rising: again, and again.
You haven’t lost your chance for light. Let God’s hope settle back into your heart, right here, right now.

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"Because I never leave your side, My Peace is always with you. You need this Peace each moment to live out My plan for your life. Sometimes you may want to take shortcuts - to reach your goal as quickly as possible. But if taking the shortcut means you turn your back on My peaceful Presence, then don’t do it. Keep walking with Me along paths of Peace - even in this crazy world."

"And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." - Isaiah 9:6 - "Jesus Calling for Kids" by Sarah Young

Scripture: Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1-2

God Is With You

You may not understand why the burdens press so hard or why the world seems louder than your prayers. Yet God sees every tear, He hears every sigh, and He is gently holding you in His presence. Let your mind rest on Him, not on the chaos around you, for He is your peace.

Do not measure your worth by what you accomplish or how others respond to you. God loves you simply because you are His. Bring Him your confusion and your doubts and let Him whisper truth into your heart. When you feel small and insignificant, remember that He is working through you in ways you cannot yet see.
Take a deep breath and feel His Spirit breathe life into your weary soul. God is your refuge, your comfort, your constant companion. When you feel alone, He is closer than your next heartbeat. Trust Him with the parts of yourself you are afraid to show. Let Him transform your fear into faith, your sorrow into hope, and your doubt into trust.
Rest in His love today. You do not need to rush to fix everything or make sense of all the pain. He is enough for every moment and He is enough for you. Walk slowly with Him, trusting that He is guiding your steps even when the path feels uncertain. Let your heart stay tender and open, for His presence is your true home.
Life has a way of wearing you down. The days are long and the nights can feel even longer when you lie awake wondering how things will ever change. Yet God’s presence is not measured by the brightness of your circumstances or the ease of your path. His nearness is not dependent on what you do or how much you accomplish. He is present in the ordinary, the mundane, the unnoticed moments. When you pour a cup of coffee, when you fold laundry, when you take a quiet walk outside, God is with you. When you feel invisible, when the world seems to pass by without notice, God is noticing. Every heartbeat, every breath, every tear is precious to Him.
You do not need to carry everything on your own. The world tells you to be strong, to hide your pain, to keep going no matter how heavy the weight feels. But God calls you to something different. He calls you to rest in Him. He calls you to come as you are, not as you think you should be. He calls you to trust Him with what you cannot fix and to surrender the parts of yourself that feel broken or unworthy. This is not weakness. It is courage. It takes courage to admit that you are not enough on your own to place your burdens in God’s hands and to allow Him to lead you through uncertainty.
