Shattered Yet Seen

Sometimes the pain is so vast it feels like your heart has been broken into pieces you cannot gather back. In those moments, the enemy urges you to stare at the ruins instead of the Redeemer, and your thoughts become consumed by loss and confusion.

But being shattered does not mean you are unseen. In fact, it is often the place where God sees you most clearly.

When we are consumed by what went wrong, who hurt us, and what we lost, we can forget something eternal: God is already ahead of us. Whatever is coming, whatever feels uncertain, He is already there. He is making a way, preparing what you will need, and covering you with a protection you may not even fully recognize yet. It has never been luck. Even in the seasons where everything felt exposed and vulnerable, God had a hedge around your life.

And the enemy knows it. That is why he is strategic. If he cannot shake you directly, he will come through the people closest to you, stirring division, planting doubt, and twisting truth in ways so subtle you almost miss it. But you have authority in Jesus to shut the door on what he is trying to build in your relationships and your mind. Even when you break free from one stronghold, do not be surprised if he returns through a different door. That is not a sign that you have failed. It is a sign that you are making progress. Through every attack and every attempt, God is still fighting for you, and His presence does not waver simply because your emotions do.

There will be moments when you feel shattered, distant from God, like your hunger for Him has gone or been buried under the weight of everything you are carrying. But shattered does not mean unseen. It does not mean He has stepped away. Often, it means you are standing in the middle of a spiritual battle.

This is where obedience becomes vital, not easy or natural but powerful. Because even when your heart feels broken open, when you feel scattered and undone, you still choose Him. You turn on worship with trembling hands. You pray through the ache. You sit in His presence even when you feel shattered. And somehow in that choice, something deeper is happening. Your heart may feel like it is in pieces, but your spirit is being held together, strengthened, seen. Even here, especially here, you are not lost to Him.

God sees the tears you hide and the battles you fight in silence. Nothing about your pain is unseen, even when it feels like you are carrying it alone. You are not forgotten by Him, even if you feel overlooked by people. You are fully known, fully understood, and never out of His sight. Even in your brokenness and pain, He is near, holding your hand. He does not step back from your suffering but stays close through it all. And every time you choose to keep going and trust Him, even when it is hard and even when you feel like you have nothing left, He sees it and values it deeply.

So even here, in what feels like your most fragile place, you are not abandoned or overlooked. You are held with intention, carried with love, and seen completely by the One who never looks away from you.

Prayer: Father, I surrender...

Father God,
I come before You with a heart that feels exhausted, overwhelmed, and heavy. God, it feels like depression is swallowing me whole, like the darkness is getting louder than the hope I am trying so hard to hold onto. You see the battles I do not have the words to explain. You see the tears I wipe away, the moments I feel numb, the thoughts that tell me I am too tired to keep going. You see every part of me, even the parts I feel ashamed of, and You do not turn away.
God, remind me that my feelings are real, but they are not the final truth. Depression may feel like a wave crashing over me, but You are the One who holds me when I cannot hold myself. When my mind tells me I am alone, remind me that Your presence has never left me. When my heart feels broken beyond repair, remind me that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You are still working in places I cannot see.
Father, I am tired of fighting battles that nobody else knows I am fighting. I am tired of pretending I am okay when I feel like I am falling apart inside. Please meet me in this moment. Give me strength for today, not just for tomorrow. Give me the courage to take the next breath, the next step, the next small moment. Help me stop measuring my worth by how productive I am, how strong I appear, or how well I can hide my pain. Remind me that I am Your beloved child before I am anything else.

God's Healing Hand

Some of the most beautiful things in life are not untouched. They have been broken. Weathered. Repaired. And lovingly restored. The same is often true of us. The wounds we carry may never completely disappear, but they no longer define us. Through God's grace, they become part of a larger story... a story of healing, perseverance, and faithfulness.

What once felt like a broken place can become a reminder of how far God has brought us. Not because the journey was easy. But because He never abandoned us in it. If you're walking through a difficult season today, don't lose heart. God is still at work, even in the places that feel fractured. His healing often creates something more beautiful than we could have imagined.

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"Draw near to Me with a thankful heart, aware that your cup is overflowing with blessings. Gratitude enables you to perceive Me more clearly and to rejoice in our Love-relationship. Nothing can separate you from My loving Presence! That is the basis of your security. Whenever you start to feel anxious, remind yourself that your security rests in Me alone, and I am totally trustworthy."
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

God Isn't Trying To Break You

Don't despise the pressure.
Clay doesn't become beautiful by being left alone.
It is pressed.
Shaped.
Turned.
Refined.
Again and again.
Sometimes we ask God,
"Why is this season so difficult?"
When perhaps the better question is,
"What are You forming in me?"
The Potter never applies pressure without purpose.
Every turn of the wheel.
Every stretch.
Every moment that feels uncomfortable.
Every season that makes no sense.
Is in the hands of Someone who already sees the finished masterpiece.
The clay doesn't tell the Potter what it should become.
It simply stays in His hands.
Maybe that's the invitation for us today.
Stop fighting every difficult season.
Stop assuming every hardship means God has abandoned you.
Sometimes the pressure you're feeling isn't punishment.
It's preparation.
God isn't trying to break you.
He's shaping you into someone who can carry what He's preparing to place in your hands.
Trust the Potter.
Even when you don't understand the process.
Because the hands that are shaping you...
Are the same hands that created you.
But now, O Lord,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
Isaiah 64:8

Be Strong And Courageous

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.” These words were spoken to Joshua at a moment of overwhelming responsibility. Moses was gone, the wilderness years were ending, and the Promised Land stood ahead, along with battles, uncertainty, and challenges far greater than Joshua could overcome in his own strength.
Notice God didn't tell Joshua to be strong because the path would be easy. He commanded courage because His presence would go with him.
Biblical courage isn't the absence of fear, but obedience in the presence of fear. It's choosing to trust God when the future is unclear, circumstances are overwhelming, and your own strength feels insufficient.
The Lion of Judah still goes before His people today. He remains sovereign over every battle, every uncertainty, every closed door, and every impossible situation in your life. Whatever lies in front of you today, remember the rest of the verse: “Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
Be strong and courageous.

Prayer: Conquering Fear

I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.
Psalm 34:4 (NKJV)

You did it, Lord! You have conquered fear and I will never be held in its clutches again. As long as I am with you, I can face anything. I am brave. I am an overcomer. Fear will no longer dictate my life. And even if I have to remind myself of these truths, every moment of every day, I will no longer allow myself to be its victim.
When I stand in the midst of the unknown, faith will be the posture of my heart, even if my legs are shaking. Step by step I will walk into a life of freedom and never look back. I will trust you and release my concerns into your hands. Instead of fearing the challenges, I will thank you for them - they remind me to continually look to you.
I choose a life of victory, where you have full control. I won't be afraid of the things I don't understand. You are here. You are faithful. I am free!
Excerpt from "Prayers On Fire" by Brenna Stockman

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"Most of your fear stems from pondering bad things that could happen - leaving Me out of that imaginary scenario. This is a very harmful practice; it is also an exercise in unreality. Although your future stretches all the way into eternity, there is not even one second when I will be absent from you. . . Whenever your mind wanders into the future, make the effort to include Me in that imagery. See Me helping you, strengthening you, encouraging you. Instead of being intimidated by tough times ahead, view them as adventures that you and I together can handle."

"And the LordHe is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed." - Deuteronomy 31:8 - "Jesus Lives" by Sarah Young

Finding Peace in the Storm To Carry You Through

“...Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”
Mark 6:50b (NKJV)

My first time visiting the state of Georgia was before we had smartphones and instant weather reports. As I drove out to hike a mountain, local news warned of intermittent showers.

But after parking, I realized I’d forgotten my rain gear. Should I leave? The sun was shining. Armed with waterproof hiking boots and a baseball cap, I figured, I’ll be fine.

Hours later, as I trekked through thick woods, it started sprinkling. Then rain poured in sheets, coming down sideways. Storm clouds quickly moved in, darkening the sky. Gusts of wind howled. Claps of explosive thunder boomed as lightning discharged around me in ominous, intense flashes like strobe lights.

I was scared and disoriented. It got so dark I couldn’t see the trail well without a flashlight or a map. There I stood, cold and soaked through in the middle of a thunderstorm.

That’s how life’s “storms” often are too. Troubling circumstances happen suddenly. We feel helpless, unsure what to do - our world seemingly spinning out of control.

The truth is we aren’t in control. But God is.

Jesus stands in our confusion and whispers, Take My hand. I will carry you through. I am with you. I will be your peace.

Sometimes the only way out is letting Jesus take us through the storm - and finding that His peace will carry us better than any plan.

Once, Jesus was alone on a mountain praying after sending His disciples ahead of Him into the Sea of Galilee. They, too, met a storm (Mark 6:45-48). Why would Jesus send them on a journey knowing they’d encounter bad weather?

Jesus saw His friends straining at the oars, and He came to them: “Immediately he spoke to them and said, ‘Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid’” (Mark 6:50b).

Peter attempted to walk to Jesus on the water but sank because he feared the wind’s strength. “Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him,” Matthew 14:31 tells us (ESV). Then Jesus got into the boat, and the wind stopped.

Jesus is with us in every storm and calms us with His promises. He moves us from having “head knowledge” to personally experiencing the powerful peace of His presence. Because peace, after all, is a person.

God has a plan in the storms of life, but we don’t always know what it is. That’s the part that requires faith. Jesus offers His hand instead of a map.

Holding on to Him means letting go of Plan A, B, or C. You can take it one day at a time - and remember you’re not alone. Reach out for help, and surround yourself with friends to support you.

Jesus sees you. He is with you. And even if He doesn’t calm the winds, He will carry you through.

Dear Jesus, take my hand. Be my peace. Never let me go. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Seasons In Life

Some seasons in life feel heavier than we can bear. They press on our hearts and stretch us in ways that leave us exhausted, unsure, and overwhelmed. Paul understood this when he wrote in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 that he and his companions were under great pressure, far beyond what they could endure. He admits that the trials they faced were bigger than human strength alone. Even the most faithful of hearts encounters moments that feel impossible.
But here is the truth: God does not place us in these seasons to crush us. He allows them to teach us dependence, to draw us closer, and to deepen our trust in Him. When life feels unbearable, when our resources and understanding fail, that is when faith becomes real. That is when we discover that we do not have to carry life on our own. Hardship becomes a doorway to intimacy with God, a moment where His presence feels undeniable because it is all we have to lean on.
These trials are not meaningless. They are shaping your character, strengthening your patience, and cultivating courage in the places fear used to live. They teach you to trust Him when the way forward is unclear and to rest in Him when your strength is gone. What feels overwhelming now is preparing you for the victories to come. God is teaching you not defeat, but reliance, showing that even in weakness, His power is made perfect.

If today feels heavy, do not despair. Lean into Him. Be patient. Be brave. Let this season shape your faith and deepen your relationship with God. Even in the unknown, even in the struggle, His purposes are good, and His presence is faithful. The pressure you feel now is not the end of your story. It is shaping you, refining you, and preparing you for the life God has already planned, a life marked by trust, courage, and victory.

Prayer: God's Infinite Grace

Father, I stand before the vastness of Your creation and I am reminded of Your infinite grace that has no end.
Teach me to witness the dance of the waves with the curiosity of a child, finding wonder in the spray and peace in the persistent rhythm of the tide.

Help me to let go of the rigid expectations I carry, allowing Your peace to wash over my heart just as the water cleanses the shore. Remind me that even when the currents of life feel strong, You are the steady ground beneath my feet and the shield around my soul. Give me the grace to be small in Your presence, finding safety in the knowledge that You are the Great Architect of every grain of sand. Help me to listen for Your voice in the whisper of the breeze and the roar of the deep, knowing You are present in every unexpected moment. I lay down my pride and my plans at the water’s edge, wanting less of me and more of You, choosing Your perfect will above my own.
In Jesus name, Amen.
The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters,
yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.”

Wisdom, Patience, and Boundaries

There are people in life whose needs press on you in ways that leave your heart heavy and your soul tired. Sometimes it feels relentless. Every phone call, every question, every expectation, every problem feels like a weight that you cannot set down. You love them, but it exhausts you. You want to help, but you are only human. You have limits. And in those moments, guilt can creep in: “Am I failing them? Am I too selfish to care?”
It is okay to acknowledge the weight. It is okay to admit that you are human, that you have boundaries, that you cannot fix everything. Feeling burdened does not make you unloving. Feeling tired does not make you unkind. God sees the tension in your heart. He knows the moments when love feels heavy and responsibility feels crushing.
He calls you to care, but He also calls you to trust Him with what you cannot bear alone. You are not meant to carry the weight of someone else’s life entirely on your own shoulders. You are called to love with wisdom, patience, and boundaries, and to remember that God is the ultimate guide and helper in every life, even the lives you feel responsible for.
You can still show love while letting God take the part of the burden that crushes your heart. You can still pray for them while taking care of yourself. You can still carry them spiritually while releasing the weight physically, emotionally, and mentally.
Prayer:
Lord, I love this person, but sometimes it feels like they are too much for me. I feel tired, frustrated, and sometimes even resentful, and I worry that makes me a bad person. Please, remind me that I am not You. I cannot fix everything, but You can. Help me to carry what I am meant to carry, and let You carry the rest. Give me wisdom, patience, and boundaries that honor both You and my own soul. Teach me how to love without losing myself, how to care without collapsing, and how to surrender the burdens I was never meant to bear alone. Fill me with Your strength and Your peace. Amen.
Reflection:
Loving someone does not mean losing yourself. Loving someone does not mean sacrificing your soul. Sometimes the greatest act of love is to let God hold the weight you cannot carry and to allow yourself rest and renewal. Boundaries and surrender are not selfish, they are holy. - Ellie Mont

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"One of the hardest things about trials is the uncertainty about how long they will last. Usually, you can’t predict or control the unpleasant circumstances. You just have to live with them indefinitely. At times you may feel as if you can endure no more, but you can always reach out to Me for help. As you cling to Me moment by moment, I enable you to persevere. This produces in you not only endurance but also a harvest of righteousness and peace." "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." - Hebrews 12:11 - "Jesus Lives" by Sarah Young

Do Not Fear...

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’” That’s a direct promise from the God of the universe. In Isaiah 41:13, God isn’t shouting this order from a distance - He says that He literally takes hold of your right hand.

He's saying, “I’m stepping into your fight with you. Your courage won’t have to come from you alone.”
This is the exact opposite of the self-help message our culture preaches. The world says, “Dig deeper, find the power within, manifest your future.” Scripture says something far better: you don’t have to be your own savior.
The Christian life isn't bout pretending you’re fearless - it’s about knowing Who is holding on to you when you’re not. When God grips your hand, your weakness stops being a liability and becomes the stage where His strength is seen.
So when fear hits - about your future, your family, your finances, your faith - remember what’s actually true. If you belong to Christ, you're not walking into that doctor’s office, that classroom, that job interview, or that lonely night by yourself.
The Lord your God goes with you, His hand wrapped around yours, already committed: “Do not fear, I will help you.”

God Hasn’t Brought You This Far To Leave You

“Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.’”
Deuteronomy 1:29-31 (NIV)

A few years ago, not long after my husband passed away, I remember sitting alone in my living room surrounded by quiet. The house that once felt familiar suddenly felt foreign. My heart ached with questions about the future: How will I raise my kids alone? How will I keep moving forward when everything has changed?

In those tender months, I opened my Bible often, sometimes with trembling hands. Again and again, God brought me to passages like today’s - reminders that He goes before us, fights for us, and carries us when we can’t carry ourselves.

Life is full of joy, but it’s also unpredictable. And sometimes it’s scary. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s people learning to trust Him and step forward in faith even when fear lingered close behind.

That’s what was happening when Moses reminded the Israelites of God’s faithfulness in Deuteronomy 1:29-31. They stood on the edge of the land God had promised them, but fear made them hesitate. They wondered, What if God doesn’t come through this time?

I can relate to that. Maybe you can too. Even when I’ve seen God’s goodness with my own “very eyes” (Deuteronomy 1:30), fear still tries to convince me otherwise.

But God’s reminder to the ancient Israelites is the same one He offers us today: I am going before you. I will fight for you. You’ve seen Me do it before, and I’ll do it again.

Moses described God’s care this way: “The LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place” (Deuteronomy 1:31). Isn’t that beautiful? God had been carrying them the whole time. Every step, every detour, every delay - until they reached this place.

Fear often lives in the next place: the unknowns of next week, next year, or whatever lies ahead. But faith lives right here, in this place, where God has already proven Himself faithful.

When I look back, I can see how God has carried me through loss, waiting, and change I never expected. And if He’s carried me here, I can trust that He’ll carry me forward too.

Whatever you’re facing today, rest in knowing your God is near and good. The same God who brought you to this place will get you to the next, and He will never leave you.

Lord, thank You for carrying me in every season. When fear tries to take over, remind me that You go before me and fight for me. Help me rest in Your faithfulness right here, in this place. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Jesus Wants You To Know...

"I embody not only perfect Love, but all the fullness of the Deity as well. In Me you have everything you could ever need. Feelings of emptiness can serve as signals - reminding you to turn back toward Me. No matter what you are doing, I can be a co-participant with you. As you invite Me into more and more aspects of your life, you will discover a growing contentment within you. In times of adversity you can lean on Me for support; in joyous times you can celebrate with Me. I am as near as a whispered prayer - even nearer. My banner over you is Love."

"Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let His banner over me be love."
