Prayer: Author and Finisher of My Faith

The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;

Daily I walk along the path of choosing. Decisions of life and death constantly before me. My choices will either draw me to you or lead me away. Each day I will declare that you are my God and nothing, not even my own selfish desires, will rule my life.

I fall into your arms. Not because I'm weary or defeated, but because I know you are my only hope. You don't want me to strive and take control. You only ask that I rest in you and release every care.

Without you, I'm nothing. Though my mind seeks to know the outcome of every situation, I will trust you. Your love has never failed me. I don't need to understand all of your plans, I only need to believe that they are good. You are the Author and Finisher of my faith. Every one of your faithful promises will come to pass. You will finish the work you've started in me.

Prayer: My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less Than Jesus

Lord, my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus, the solid rock on which I stand.

Everything else in this life is shifting sand, temporary and unreliable, but You are the foundation that will never crumble, never fail, never let me down.

Teach me to anchor my hope in You alone, not in my circumstances, not in other people, not in my own strength or plans, but in the unchanging truth of who You are.

Help me recognize when I'm building my life on shaky ground, when I'm trusting in what's temporary instead of what's eternal, when I'm leaning on anything other than You.

Remind me that when everything else falls apart, when plans fail and dreams shatter and nothing goes the way I hoped, You remain, steady and sure and worthy of my trust.

Give me the wisdom to build my life on the solid foundation of Your truth, Your promises, Your character, knowing that what's built on You will stand no matter what storms come.

Let my hope be unshakeable because it's rooted not in what I can see or control but in Jesus, the rock of my salvation, my anchor in every season.

Seasons In Life

Some seasons in life feel heavier than we can bear. They press on our hearts and stretch us in ways that leave us exhausted, unsure, and overwhelmed. Paul understood this when he wrote in 2 Corinthians 1:8-9 that he and his companions were under great pressure, far beyond what they could endure. He admits that the trials they faced were bigger than human strength alone. Even the most faithful of hearts encounters moments that feel impossible.

But here is the truth: God does not place us in these seasons to crush us. He allows them to teach us dependence, to draw us closer, and to deepen our trust in Him. When life feels unbearable, when our resources and understanding fail, that is when faith becomes real. That is when we discover that we do not have to carry life on our own. Hardship becomes a doorway to intimacy with God, a moment where His presence feels undeniable because it is all we have to lean on.

These trials are not meaningless. They are shaping your character, strengthening your patience, and cultivating courage in the places fear used to live. They teach you to trust Him when the way forward is unclear and to rest in Him when your strength is gone. What feels overwhelming now is preparing you for the victories to come. God is teaching you not defeat, but reliance, showing that even in weakness, His power is made perfect.

If today feels heavy, do not despair. Lean into Him. Be patient. Be brave. Let this season shape your faith and deepen your relationship with God. Even in the unknown, even in the struggle, His purposes are good, and His presence is faithful. The pressure you feel now is not the end of your story. It is shaping you, refining you, and preparing you for the life God has already planned, a life marked by trust, courage, and victory.

Prayer: God Knows...

Made To Be Good, Not Just Feel Good

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,

And in His word I do hope.

Psalm 130:5 (NKJV)

The challenges kept coming. Just when I thought I was recovering and getting back up on my feet after one hardship, another difficulty would come crashing in and send me right back to my knees.

Financial insecurity.

Relational stress.

Struggling children.

Professional uncertainty.

Illness.

I couldn’t catch my breath. There wasn’t a direction I could look and find peace, abundant life, or the provision I felt God had promised me.

These struggles aren’t unique, and the urge to give up when everything feels overwhelming is something we all experience. So what do we do when we want to quit? When we feel like we’re in over our heads and our emotions are screaming, You are never going to make it through this?

Personally, I like to take the easiest route. A venting call with a friend helps for a moment. Or I’ll try out the latest productivity hack that will pull my head above water for a couple of days. I might even get really disciplined and go for a “30-Day Reset” plan I saw online, which sometimes gives me a few weeks of reprieve.

But honestly, none of these tricks brings lasting change.

The only place I have found true strength and hope to carry me through the toughest of days is in the promises of our all-knowing, all-powerful God.

Maybe today you’re facing impossibilities like I am, and maybe your feelings are screaming at you to lie down and quit. Let me remind you of what God promises in His holy, perfect Word. He promises He will …

• Give you eternal life in Christ (John 5:24).

• Love you forever (Psalm 136).

• Make you more like Him through the work of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).

• Give you peace (Philippians 4:6-7).

• Work all things out for good (Romans 8:28).

And so much more.

Those are good promises, but I want to take a step back and see something that’s not promised. In all the words of the Bible, God doesn’t promise a comfortable, easy life on earth, and He doesn’t promise to give us all we want.

What He promises is to give us His enduring love and to work all things out for good. It’s not that things always feel good, but they will be good … There’s a big difference. To be good is to be like Christ, displaying the fruit of the Spirit. Feeling good comes and goes; being good lasts forever.

The challenges I’m facing haven’t changed. Even as I write this, I’m tempted to give up. But Psalm 130:5 tells me what to do: “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope …”

Today, instead of just venting to a friend or trying another productivity hack, I’m choosing to believe God's Word instead of my feelings. I'm letting Him use the waiting to make me good, not just comfortable.

Lord, in my waiting, help me trust Your Word more than my feelings. Make me more like You, even when it’s hard. I choose to hope in You today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
