Stop worrying about what you are going to do. God is still the Way Maker. He is already opening the road in front of you, even where you cannot see a path ahead.
Your heart may feel worn out. You lie awake and stare at the ceiling, replaying conversations, test results, bank statements, what your children did or did not say. You think through every “what if,” every worst case, every burden you are carrying for the people you love, and by morning you feel empty.
You love the Lord. You have walked with Him for years, yet your thoughts still run ahead of you, trying to peek around every corner. You wish you could see the plan, the timeline, the exact way He will help your family, your health, your future. The not knowing sits on your chest like a weight you cannot quite push away.
But friend, you belong to the One who called Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is not asking you to chart the course. He is not expecting you to keep all the pieces in the air. He simply asks you to stay close to Him. While you are studying the map and worrying about every turn, He is already out in front, clearing the road you cannot see and arranging details you do not even know to pray about.
Think back over your life. There were seasons you were not sure how you would pay the bills, raise the children, survive the loss, or bear the disappointment. At the time, it all looked dark and confusing. Later, when you looked back, you could trace His care through every detour and delay. What felt like confusion turned out to be protection. The God who carried you then has not changed. He is still guiding, still guarding, still opening a way where there does not seem to be one.
Right now, in this very ordinary moment, God is at work behind the scenes. While you stir a pot on the stove. While you answer a message from a grown child. While you straighten the pillows in the living room or sit at the table with a quiet cup of coffee. He is speaking to hearts you cannot reach. He is moving in rooms you will never sit in. He is unlocking doors that, from where you stand, still look shut.
You may feel stuck, but God is never stuck. You may feel like life is on hold, but Heaven does not run late. You may feel like nothing is moving, yet the Lord does His deepest work in the slow, hidden seasons. Sometimes the path is laid one small stone at a time while you are learning to lean, to wait, and to breathe in His timing instead of your own.
It is hard to open your hands when you have carried the load for so long. You have planned, called, driven, arranged, cooked, comforted, given, and held things together. You have been the strong one for so many people that relaxing almost feels irresponsible. Yet God whispers to your heart that you were never meant to be the rescuer. Jesus is the Savior. Your calling is not to make the way, but to trust the Way Maker.
So when your thoughts begin to race and your stomach tightens with fear, pause for a moment. Place your hand over your heart. Breathe in slowly and let it out. Whisper, “Lord, You are preparing a way for me and for my family. I cannot see it yet, but I choose to trust You.” Let that little prayer rise above the noise. Each time worry shows up, answer it with truth. God is steady. God is good. God is not uncertain about your life.
You are not overlooked. You are not invisible. Every tear you have wiped away in the kitchen, every quiet prayer whispered in the dark, every hope you hardly dare to say out loud has reached the heart of God. The road in front of you may look blurry, but the One holding your hand does not stumble. He will not drop you. He will not ask you to carry this by yourself.
One day, you will sit at your kitchen table or in your favorite chair and tell the story of this very season. You will say, “Now I see what You were doing, Lord. Now I see why that door stayed closed and why that door opened.” What now feels like a tight knot of questions will look like a carefully woven pattern of grace. The delays will show themselves as shelter. The disappointments will prove to be redirections toward what was always meant for you.
Until that day, let
your tired heart rest. You do not have to understand every step in order to be
held by the One who walks beside you. You do not have to see the whole road to
take the next small step of obedience and trust. The Way Maker is with you in
this season, in this house, in this body, in this family. He is for you. He is
already at work, preparing a steady path for your feet, even when everything
feels dark.
Be my Way Maker. Go ahead of me. Open the doors that are from You and gently close the ones that are not. Watch over my children, my grandchildren, my marriage, my health, and every place in my life that feels unsure. When fear rises in me, remind me that You are already working on my behalf.
Give me peace where there has been panic. Give me trust where there has been doubt. Give me calm where there has been strain. Teach me to walk by faith instead of sight, confident that Your heart toward me is kind and that Your plans are good.
