Sometimes it takes losing what we leaned on to discover what was holding us up all along. When everything else has been stripped away, you begin to see God differently. He’s no longer one part of your life. He becomes your refuge. Your foundation. Your daily bread. The One you run to because there’s nowhere else that can give what your soul truly needs.
David wrote, “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.” Psalm 62:1
Maybe you wouldn’t have chosen the road that brought you here. Maybe you still don’t understand why God allowed certain things to fall apart. But if the breaking taught you to cling to Him, pray honestly, surrender deeply, and to stop building your life on things that can’t last, then even the pain wasn’t wasted.
Sometimes the greatest mercy is discovering that God was never supposed to be your backup plan, but your center.
